Job description

<p class="text-node">Restored and renovated, La Cour des Palmiers is one of the most pleasant places in Montreal to enjoy tea or a light snack as well as quality appetizers.</p><p class="text-node"></p><ul class="list-node"><li><p class="text-node">Set tables uniformly according to service standards.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Set up service areas.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Check the fridges (cleanliness and stock) and check the adjuncts (appearance and cleanliness).</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Polish cutlery and glassware.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Take customer orders using suggestive selling and departmental procedures.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Serve drink orders to customers, using the techniques from the service manual.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and other hot beverages.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Anticipate customer needs, respond promptly.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Complete all closing reports as agreed and leave after notifying the supervisor.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Provide quality service to our customers in accordance with the procedures and standards of La Cour des Palmiers and Forbes standards.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Have solid knowledge of wines and spirits, different allergens, as well as tea pairings.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Handle customer payments.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Replace the Bartender as needed.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Produce food requisitions following the hotel’s procedures.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">All other related tasks.</p></li></ul><p class="text-node"></p>

Requirements

<ul class="list-node"><li><p class="text-node">Know the selection of liquors, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Be familiar with all menu items, prices, taste standards, appearance, texture, garnishing, and presentation methods.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Good knowledge of sommelier practices and perfect mastery of signature cocktails.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Understand and strictly adhere to laws, especially those prohibiting the sale of alcohol to minors, intoxicated persons, and driving under the influence.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Know and master maintenance methods and usage of equipment.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Familiar with Micros, manual systems, and payment systems.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Hold a high school diploma.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Have 3 years of experience as a server in a restaurant or hotel.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Master and fully understand the reception and service standards of a 5-star hotel.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Be able to communicate in French and English with customers, management, and coworkers.</p></li></ul><p class="text-node"></p>
