Description du poste

OBJECTIVE
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef, the Cook is responsible for performing various tasks involved in the preparation of dishes, including food preparation, plate presentation, and quality control of served products. The Cook must also ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with the standards and guidelines related to their discipline.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly prepare ingredients according to established standards and requirements;
  • Cook food by strictly applying taught techniques and meticulously following established recipes;
  • Assemble and plate prepared dishes in accordance with the establishment’s standards;
  • Maintain an impeccably clean work area;
  • Uphold sanitation and hygiene standards as established by the organization;
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with other team members;
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others;
  • Follow all company policies and procedures;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of private and confidential work-related information;
  • Protect company assets;
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the supervisor on duty;
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Exigences

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational or college-level training in hospitality, tourism, or a related field;
  • 1 to 2 years of experience, preferably in a hospitality environment;
  • MAPAQ food safety and hygiene certification (an asset).

 

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND APTITUDES

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service abilities;
  • Flexibility with work schedules, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays;
  • Ability to work standing for most of the shift;
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position objects weighing less than 15 pounds without assistance;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in French and functional English.
