Job description

Holiday Inn Express Montreal Airport – St-Laurent is looking for a dynamic and professional Front Desk Supervisor to ensure quality customer service and support the front desk team in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily front desk operations (check-in, check-out, guest requests)

  • Ensure compliance with IHG service and hospitality standards

  • Train, coach, and motivate the front desk team

  • Handle guest complaints and ensure proper follow-up

  • Monitor performance indicators and propose improvements

  • Collaborate with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance, sales)

  • Actively participate in administrative tasks (reports, schedules, inventory)

Candidate Profile
  • Previous experience in hospitality

  • Experience in team supervision or leadership

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills

  • Fully bilingual: French / English

  • Comfortable with hotel management software (Hotello, Opera, Mews, or similar)

  • Flexible availability: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Description

The primary role of the Front Desk Supervisor is to manage tasks directly related to the guest experience, such as handling room reservations, welcoming guests upon arrival and during their stay, providing information about the hotel’s services and local attractions, promoting sales, and ensuring smooth coordination between departments. The supervisor also supports other receptionists by answering questions and assists in managing first-level complaints.

Availability, flexibility, rigor, and team spirit are essential qualities for this position. Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills are required to maintain high-quality guest interactions. The Front Desk Supervisor must also demonstrate initiative and remain calm under pressure.

This position requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays (may include overnight shifts). Work schedules may vary depending on hotel occupancy and the tourist season.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in hotel front desk/reception (Mandatory)

  • Bilingual in written and spoken French and English (Mandatory). Knowledge of additional languages is an asset

  • Ability to work flexible schedules (mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)

  • Stress tolerance

  • Initiative and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Autonomy, energy, interpersonal skills, and courtesy

  • Versatility and adaptability

  • Professional attitude and behavior (teamwork skills, honesty, sense of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, etc.)

  • Good physical condition (the position requires standing for 8-hour shifts)

  • Ability to handle monetary transactions

  • Knowledge of hotel management software and computer literacy (Mandatory)

  • Knowledge of Montreal tourist attractions and surrounding areas
