Responsibilities

  • Welcome each guest with distinction and personalized attention

  • Master precise, smooth, and silent service

  • Anticipate needs with accuracy and discretion

  • Advise with finesse on wines and food pairings

  • Highlight the menu with a sensory and narrative approach

  • Ensure flawless setup

  • Maintain harmonious communication with the kitchen

  • Strictly adhere to quality, hygiene, and service standards

  • Handle payment transactions for bar and restaurant bills.

  • Answer the phone and greet customers when the maître d'hôtel is unavailable.

  • The number of hours per week may vary depending on the tourist season, but it is a full-time position (between 32 and 40 hours per week).

  • Compensation corresponds to the minimum wage with industry tips, and server tips are established according to the SonoLux tipping policy.

Requirements

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Experience in upscale or gourmet dining

  • Strong attention to detail and elegance

  • Passion for service, gastronomy, and wine

  • Impeccable posture and interpersonal intelligence

  • Skills in customer service, managing difficult clients, and conflict resolution

  • Knowledge of reception techniques

  • Abilities in verbal communication, reading non-verbal cues, and active listening

  • Professional attitudes and behaviors (teamwork skills, autonomy, dynamism, friendliness, honesty, integrity, versatility, initiative and responsibility, attention to detail, organizational skills, patience, etc.)

  • Team spirit

  • Good stress resistance

  • Bilingualism (French and English). Mastery of other languages is an asset

  • Ability to handle monetary transactions

  • Knowledge and application of basic health and safety principles, as well as hygiene and sanitation
