Responsibilities
Welcome customers and answer the phone
Know the menu and its ingredients
Know the wines offered
Manage the bar and basic cocktails
Ensure the setup of the dining room and terrace
Take orders
Respond to customer needs
Strictly adhere to standards of quality, hygiene, and service
Collect payment for bills
Work collaboratively with the entire team

Variable work hours, generally requiring work during lunchtime, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Position requires long hours standing.
Work can be performed under pressure during peak hours and requires dealing with sometimes demanding customers.
Weekly hours may vary according to the tourist season, but this is a full-time position (between 32h and 40h per week).
Compensation corresponds to the minimum wage with industry tips, and server tips are established according to the Polisson tip charter.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Experience in the restaurant industry (minimum of 2 years of experience in the dining room)
Customer service skills, managing difficult clients, and conflict resolution
Knowledge of hospitality techniques
Ability in verbal communication, decoding non-verbal cues, and active listening
Professional attitudes and behaviors (teamwork skills, autonomy, dynamism, sociability, honesty, integrity, versatility, initiative and responsibility, attention to detail, organizational skills, patience, etc.)
Good stress resistance
Bilingualism (French and English). Mastery of other languages is an asset
Ability to perform monetary transactions
Knowledge and application of basic health and safety principles, as well as hygiene and sanitation
