Status: Full-time _From May to September, with the option to continue on a part-time basis starting in October.
Salary: 50 000$ per year
Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Centre. This iconic Montreal hotel was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms, and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the department (arrival/departure/group/VIP) and ensures that company standards are met. This person will work closely with the front desk and engineering department. As the industry is ever-changing, the responsibilities of this position will change and evolve accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of employees
- Plan and assign tasks to staff members
- Adjust schedules based on occupancy levels
- Manage stocks of cleaning products and guest supplies
- Ensure compliance with rules and procedures
- Participate in employee performance management
- Ensure proper application of the collective agreement
- Ensure the health and safety of personnel
- Coordinate services with external companies/suppliers
- Coach and mentor employees
- Inspect rooms
- Participate in the disciplinary process
- Ensure quality customer service and manage customer complaints
- Any other related tasks to ensure the quality of the department's service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in housekeeping for a luxury hotel.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures.
- Familiarity with hotel management software.
- Degree or diploma in hotel management or a related field preferred.
- Training or certification in customer service would be an asset.
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written, is required for this position as we serve an international clientele.
