Position Summary

The Ignatian Spirituality Centre of Montreal (ISCM) and Villa Saint-Martin Retreat House are seeking a dedicated and reliable Full-Time Housekeeping Attendant to help maintain a welcoming, peaceful, and hospitable environment for our retreatants, guests, and staff.

Rooted in the Jesuit tradition of hospitality and care for the whole person, this role contributes directly to the spiritual experience of our guests by ensuring that all spaces are clean, comfortable, and well maintained.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Rooms & Common Areas

• Clean and prepare guest rooms according to established standards
• Change linens and towels; restock amenities as required
• Clean bathrooms, vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and sanitize surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness in corridors, lounges, chapels, meeting rooms, and other common areas
• Ensure retreat spaces are set up and refreshed between programs

Laundry Coordination

• Prepare, organize, and track linens and towels for outsourced laundry services
• Receive, inspect, fold, and store clean linens upon return
• Perform occasional on-site laundry as required
• Maintain laundry and storage areas in clean and safe condition

Inventory & Supplies

• Monitor housekeeping supplies and report inventory needs
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning products
• Follow safety guidelines for chemical handling

Collaboration & Support

• Work collaboratively with the hospitality, kitchen, and maintenance teams
• Report maintenance issues or damages promptly
• Assist with seasonal deep cleaning projects

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety standards
• Functional English required; French an asset

Working Conditions

• Full-time (35–40 hours per week)
• Regular weekend work is required due to retreat programming schedules
• Schedule may include early mornings and/or occasional holidays
• On-site work in a retreat and hospitality environment
