Job description

The DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal Airport is looking for a Sales and Event Manager to join a dynamic work team. The candidate will position and promote the establishment's products and services in its sector, the West Island of Montreal, and Greater Montreal. He/She will participate in the development and implementation of the establishment's sales and marketing plan while being a proud representative of the DoubleTree by Hilton philosophy.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate will be responsible for:

Solicit potential customers and the existing client portfolio by telephone, email, meetings, trade shows, etc.

Participate in Hilton's sales activities in addition to keeping their sales tools up to date.

Work closely with Hilton's revenue manager. Plans, organizes, and supervises sales and marketing development strategies.

Identify action priorities to increase business opportunities.

• Develop new strategies to develop new markets while ensuring profitability.

Prepare a sales plan: market research, price, promotion, advertising, distribution, communication, etc.

Prepare and analyze group reports (accommodation and banquet) on a weekly basis.

Understand the parameters of the conference or meeting (level of importance of the meeting, number of people expected, duration, budget allocated, etc.).

Take care of hotel visits for potential customers.

Discuss menus, prices, necessary equipment (audiovisual, IT or other), layout of premises, etc. with customers; while maximizing hotel revenues.

Transmit the information necessary for the realization of the conference or meeting to the staff and department concerned (choice of menus, reservations of rooms and equipment, specific features regarding the layout of the premises, etc.)

Prepare sales contracts; group and meeting room reservations, as well as ensure the accuracy of billing.

Make the necessary arrangements to satisfy customers.

Follow up with customers and resolve problems related to the consumption of the establishment's product or service.

Keep customer files and contracts up to date.

Ensure optimal use of all facilities and maximize profitability.

Ensure the smooth running of activities from arrival to departure of participants.

Ensure full customer satisfaction to encourage their return.

Requirements

Skills in human resources management (management of work teams, conflict management, etc.).

Skills in planning, sales, negotiation, and marketing.

Skills in customer service.

Professional attitudes and behavior (dynamism, interpersonal skills, honesty, versatility, sense of initiative, sense of organization, etc.).

Knowledge of spoken and written French and English. Mastery of other languages is an asset.

Skills for written and verbal communication.

Excellent skills in logistics and communications.

Ability to perform monetary transactions.

Knowledge and application of labor standards and basic principles in health and safety.

Leadership and decision-making ability.

Tolerance to stress.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position

1 year of experience in sales or event coordination.

Ability to follow a development plan for the event market.

Hold a driver's license.

Knowledge of the Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and hotel computer systems, particularly sales systems (OnQ PM, OnQ R&I, GRO, Delphi/Meeting Broker, etc.) Knowledge of the West Island of Montreal market (an asset)."
