Montebello, Québec– Fairmont Château Montebello is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Chi How Kit as Executive Chef effective February 4, 2019.
A graduate of Hotel School of Mauritius in Mauritius, Chef How Kit has more than 24 years of culinary experience and is no stranger to luxury hotels and high standards. Since arriving in Canada, he has worked at several Fairmont properties, starting at Fairmont Royal York as Sous-Chef. He then joined the Fairmont Tremblant team in the same role before being promoted to the position of Acting Executive Sous-Chef. He then flew to the west coast to hold the Banquets Chef position at Fairmont Vancouver for a few years before being promoted to the position of Executive Sous-Chef. He has also distinguished himself as Acting Executive Chef at Fairmont Vancouver.
Chef How Kit's passion for food began when he was young, while helping his mother with cooking. He likes to prepare simple dishes and let the ingredients shine, while using local and seasonal ingredients. He also likes to share his passion with young cooks while working alongside them in the kitchen.
Chef How Kit is known for his creativity, passion and organization – three qualities that make him an outstanding pillar for the resort.
