Resume Design: Eye-Tracking Study Finds Job Seekers Have Six Seconds To Make An Impression
There have long been general guidelines for resume writing but rarely, if ever, has it been considered an exact science.
Now, using eye-tracking software, researchers at the career matching company TheLadders have found recruiters spend an average of just six seconds looking at a resume
before deciding 'yay' or 'nay' on candidates. According to the study,
knowing where recruiters eyes are focused during that time can help job
seekers determine how to structure their resumes most effectively.
