The Top-Rated Workplaces in Canada

When people begin their job hunt, one of the first things they do before applying to a role is research the company. Most often, their research consists of consulting third-party review sites such as Indeed Company Pages to see what former and current employees are saying about the organization.

These reviews and ratings are highly influential in a job seeker’s decision making process. According to a recent survey from Indeed1, 92% of workers in Canada stated that when considering a new job opportunity, insight into a company’s employer reputation is important.
Over the course of this year, we’ve showcased the top-rated workplaces in various regions – from British Columbia to Ontario to Quebec.

Now, it’s time to reveal our nation-wide list.

Indeed pored over 600,000 company reviews and ratings to gauge the top-rated workplaces in Canada. The list takes into account five key facets that combine to create the optimal employee experience – work-life balance, salary and benefits, job security and advancement, management and culture.

So, who came out on top? Read on to discover which companies are among the top-rated workplaces in Canada.

Hotel giant Fairmont takes the number-one spot

The list contains a diverse group of employers from various industries – from energy to finance to construction. But one commonality among all the companies on our list is that they each boast a strong corporate culture. Of course, factors such as job security and compensation and benefits are always going to matter to employees. But, in a candidate-driven market where job seekers have a lot of options, a positive corporate culture, sense of community and a strong mission can really help set companies apart.

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has established a reputation for providing best-in-class experiences for its guests – and this experience extends to its employees, too. One of the many perks offered is the “Employee Travel Program,” which allows employees to  receive discounts on such things as hotel rooms, spas and golf at Fairmont and sister brands.
