About the role:

Supervisory role supporting the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets with a focus on MARCUS Restaurant reporting to the Beverage Manager. Provides helpful support to hourly colleagues to carry out the best guest experience possible by following all procedures to maintain the property’s standards and cleanliness. Strives to ensure an exceptional guest and employee experience.

What you will do:

·         Have full knowledge of all spirits, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages available at the restaurant. Be familiar with the specific characteristics and descriptions of each wine/champagne by the glass, all the fine wines on the wine list, as well as the glassware and garnishes appropriate to each beverage;

·         Responsible for coaching, training, and supporting hourly employees;

·         Conducts standard beverage tests and manages performance records;

·         Supports all efforts related to achieving key service performance indicators (LQA, Forbes, Medallia);

·         Supports training and accountability within the team to achieve results exceeding benchmarks. Coaches employees based on performance to meet these standards;

·         Acts in all areas related to the safety, satisfaction, and well-being of restaurant guests;

·         Resolves guest complaints in all areas of the hotel’s food and beverage operations; ensures that all guest interactions are conducted with an exceptional level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible with guidance from the management team;

·         Responds to all guest requests and inquiries accurately and promptly. Guest interaction may take place in person, by phone, or via other technologies (CHAT);

·         Checks wine/champagne inventory and orders missing items. Ensures proper reception, storage, and security of wines;

·         Ensures that for each service, there are enough beverage lists, wine lists, snack menus, and special cocktail menus available and in good condition;

·         Works harmoniously and professionally with colleagues and supervisors;

· Performs any other related tasks or projects as requested by hotel management.

Requirements

What you bring:

·         Ability to communicate fluently in French, both orally and in writing (intermediate level);

·         An intermediate knowledge of English is necessary to understand the needs of international customers, explain the services offered, and ensure a personalized experience. 

  • One (1) to two (2) years luxury hotel experience in an operational supervisory role;
  • College degree / certification in Hotel Management, Sommelier or related fields;
  • Excellent knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic options (WSET-2 or equivalent) with experience using POS (Point-of-Sale) systems;
  • Ability to read, write in French and English. Foreign language is a plus but not required;
  • Clear supervisory, coaching and leadership skills;
  • Trustworthy and helpful personality to all team members in various departments;
  • Ability to supervise a large and diverse group of individuals;
  • Ability to shift gears and into different areas of responsibilities comfortably;
  • Ability to work in motion, mostly standing, and lift, pull or push loads up to 25kg.
