REPORTS TO:                General Manager & Dual Director of People Resources

                      

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The People Manager is the heartbeat of the Moxy crew—energizing our people culture, fostering growth, and ensuring everyone feels connected and empowered. You’ll collaborate with the Dual Director of People Resources and General Manager to keep people operations smooth, spirited, and compliant with provincial regulations. From recruiting rock stars to supporting leadership growth, your work will shape an engaging workplace where authenticity thrives.

WHO YOU ARE:

Experience

• 2-year IN Human Resources, or related field with at least 3 years of progressive HR or operations experience.

OR

• 4-year degree in a related major with 2 years of HR or management experience.

 Preferred Extras:

• Previous people management experience in branded hotels (Marriott, Hilton, Accor, IGH, Hyatt)

• Bilingual (English/French) a major asset

• Proven knowledge of Ontario Employment legislation and Health & Safety  standards (ESA, WSIB, OHSA, WHMIS)

• Experience in hotel opening, pre-opening environments, hotel renovation and brand conversion

• Familiarity with HR software (Employer D, MS Office Suite)

• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

• A natural connector with strong communication and coaching skills

• Coordinate training, brand learning programs, and talent development opportunities

• Support leaders with performance management, coaching and succession planning

• Promote open communication and mediate workplace concerns constructively

People Operations & Compliance

• Oversee recruitment, new hire processes, and HR documentation

• Maintain compliance with employment standards, safety and RIMAP/Moxy policies

• Manage WSIB, Health & Safety programs, and incident follow-ups

• Maintain HR reports, associate files and keeps systems organized and efficient

• Follow company standards, policies and procedures

• Partner with Moxy Captain to deliver social and recognition events that keep our crew buzzing-think team celebrations, appreciation weeks, and community initiatives
