<p class="text-node">The Home2 Suites by Hilton Montréal Dorval is looking for a hands-on Hotel Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the hotel’s infrastructure, equipment, and day-to-day maintenance operations.</p><p class="text-node">This is a working, hands-on management position. The successful candidate will not only supervise maintenance activities and contractors but will also be actively involved in daily repairs, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, renovations, and improvement projects throughout the hotel.</p><p class="text-node">We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, practical, and comfortable working with their hands. Strong knowledge of basic construction, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general building maintenance is essential.</p><p class="text-node">Your goal will be to ensure that our hotel is safe, functional, well-maintained, and comfortable for both guests and employees while keeping maintenance costs under control and addressing issues quickly and effectively.</p><p class="text-node"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul class="list-node"><li><p class="text-node">Perform and oversee daily hands-on maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, building, and general maintenance issues.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure it meets quality, safety, and operational standards.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Carry out routine preventative maintenance in guest rooms, lobbies, kitchens, pool, fitness center, mechanical areas, and other hotel facilities.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program and ensure scheduled work is completed.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Plan and personally participate in renovation and improvement projects, including guest room updates, common area renovations, and building-wide improvements.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Complete repairs and maintenance projects while minimizing disruption to guests.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations such as power outages, plumbing failures, equipment breakdowns, or other building issues.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Identify maintenance issues before they become larger or more costly problems.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Coordinate and supervise contractors and external service providers when specialized work is required.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Find practical ways to reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency, and extend the life of hotel equipment and infrastructure.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Maintain accurate maintenance records, budgets, expenses, work orders, and activity logs.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Ensure tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, and spare parts are properly maintained and available when needed.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable health, safety, and hotel standards.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Provide hands-on support to maintenance staff and assist with training and troubleshooting.</p></li><li><p class="text-node">Participate in larger maintenance, renovation, and improvement projects as required.</p></li></ul><p class="text-node">The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys fixing things and takes pride in maintaining a property to a high standard. You should be comfortable going from managing a contractor or reviewing a maintenance schedule to picking up a tool and personally resolving a problem.</p><p class="text-node">This position is ideal for a practical, resourceful, and self-motivated maintenance professional who wants to take ownership of the hotel's physical condition and be directly involved in keeping the property running smoothly.</p><p class="text-node">Hourly wage based on experience.</p>
