Job description
Kitchen Team Leader | May to October (with possibility of extension)
• Wage: $23 to $26/hour (depending on experience) + tips (approx. $7.25/hour) = Total compensation between $30 and $33.25/hour
• Daytime position

At La Midinette, the Kitchen Team Leader plays a key role in the smooth running of kitchen operations. Present and hands-on, they coordinate the team, ensure production quality, and help achieve profitability goals. The menu is simple: a small, carefully crafted selection of sandwiches, pizzas, and sides, all prepared with consistency and care. It’s a practical, action-oriented role where you lead, organize, and get involved daily to deliver a quality customer experience.

Your Main Responsibilities
Team Leadership
• Supervise and motivate the kitchen team during daily operations
• Assign tasks strategically based on each team member’s strengths
• Help onboard new employees
• Train, guide, and give constructive feedback to your team
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Be the go-to person for operational and team-related questions in the kitchen
Production & Service
• Contribute to daily production (sandwiches, pizza, soups, sides)
• Ensure smooth service and optimal coordination of kitchen activities
• Uphold high standards for food quality and execution
Organization & Management
• Plan work schedules and ensure appropriate staffing
• Manage inventories and storage areas
• Place orders to ensure availability without overstock
• Ensure ingredient quality and compliance with MAPAQ standards
• Monitor food and labor cost targets
• Streamline operations to support the profitability of the business
• Show flexibility in responding to unforeseen needs or challenges
