Travel: Occasional travel between properties
Employment Type: Full-time, 100% on-site
Salary: $50,000
Reports to: Senior Social Media & Marketing Manager

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Senior Social Media & Marketing Manager, the Junior Social Media Specialist will support the management and engagement of social media accounts for several Tidan hotels and real estate properties.

This position is ideal for an entry-level candidate who is creative, organized, and eager to develop skills in digital marketing and content creation. The role primarily involves assisting the senior team in executing social media strategies, producing content, and managing online communities while adhering to established brand guidelines. The candidate should also have practical knowledge of graphic design and be willing to participate in creating various creative assets.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Assist in implementing the editorial calendar set by the senior social media & marketing manager.
  • Schedule and publish content on various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) according to provided guidelines.
  • Collaborate with hotel and real estate teams to gather content, event information, and local initiatives.
  • Support employer branding efforts by contributing to content that highlights Tidan as an employer of choice.

Content Creation

  • Capture basic photos and videos during events, on-site activities, or daily property life.
  • Perform simple photo and video edits suitable for social media platforms.
  • Write short, engaging captions aligned with brand tone.
  • Assist in creating diverse content: posts, stories, reels, and other digital formats.
  • Design graphics such as digital flyers, menus, etc.
  • Support content production showcasing company culture, teams, and career opportunities.

Community Engagement

  • Monitor incoming comments and messages on social media.
  • Respond to simple interactions or forward them to the appropriate person when required.
  • Help maintain a professional, consistent, and positive online presence.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Compile basic social media statistics (reach, engagement, growth).
  • Assist in preparing simple performance reports.
  • Support the team in identifying areas for improvement under supervision.
  • Help identify appropriate influencers for potential collaborations.

On-Site Content Creation

  • Occasionally travel to properties to capture content.
  • Support coverage of events, internal initiatives, or guest experiences.

Requirements

  • First experience or internship in social media, marketing, or communications (asset).
  • Good knowledge of key social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Basic knowledge of design or editing tools (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.).
  • Strong interest in content creation (photo, video, visuals).
  • Awareness of social trends and platform algorithms.
  • Ability to write in French (functional English required since we have properties outside of Quebec).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Team player, able to follow clear instructions.
  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Availability for occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or training in marketing, communications, digital media, or related field.
  • Interest in hospitality, real estate, or lifestyle sectors.
  • Sensitivity to employer branding and internal communications.
