Status: Full-time. Seasonal (May to September)
Salary: $60,000 plus end-of-season bonus
Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Centre. This iconic Montreal hotel was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms, and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage and the Terrace Manager, the Group Coordinator – Belvu Terrace is responsible for managing all group reservation requests for the hotel’s seasonal rooftop terrace. Acting as the primary point of contact between clients, internal teams, and external partners, the group coordinator ensures thorough follow-up for each event, from the initial inquiry through to on-site execution. This role is key to maximizing terrace occupancy while delivering a seamless, professional guest experience that aligns with the brand’s standards.
Main responsibilities:
- Receive and evaluate group reservation requests (10 guests or more) for Belvu Terrace.
- Follow up with clients regarding availability, menu options, seating arrangements, deposit policies, contracts, and confirmations.
- Prepare and distribute event function sheets to relevant departments (service, kitchen, bar, security).
- Collaborate with the Terrace Manager to optimize group layouts based on capacity and expected traffic.
- Coordinate special requests (dietary restrictions, décor, AV equipment, etc.).
- Be present or on-call during events to ensure smooth execution and address any issues as they arise.
- Maintain updated tracking tools for reservations (spreadsheets, CRM, or internal platforms).
- Assist with event closure procedures including billing, client feedback, and post-event analysis.
- Support the operations team during peak periods, as needed.
Required skills:
- 1–2 years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, or group management in a hotel or event setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Customer-service oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reservation/CRM tools.
- Familiarity with luxury hospitality and upscale dining is an asset.
