Job description

Location: 1440 Drummond St, Montreal, Quebec H3G 1V9
Status: Full-time
Annual Salary: $60,000 to $65,000, based on experience

Mount Stephen is a Montreal boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown, in the prestigious Golden Square Mile district. This luxurious hotel can accommodate up to 400 guests across 85 rooms and 5 prestigious suites. Whether you join the team in room service, concierge services, or another department, the Mount Stephen hotel team will be pleased to welcome you.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager is responsible for the revenues generated within the market segments assigned to them. The selected candidate must meet or exceed specific financial objectives by maximizing the contribution of existing accounts, developing new business sources, and expanding the hotel’s presence within their market segments, in order to support the achievement of the establishment’s overall objectives.

The Sales Manager is also responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive strategic action plan aimed at actively increasing the hotel’s market share.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market and prospective client research to continuously grow the hotel’s clientele according to assigned segments.
• Prospect, develop, and grow assigned market segments.
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with key industry contacts and commercial organizations.
• Develop pricing strategies tailored to each market segment.
• Ensure the preparation of sales contracts.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events.
• Use sales software to manage the client database and track activities.

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the various market segments.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in hospitality, including at least 2 years in sales.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
• Knowledge of hotel management systems, such as Opera Cloud.
• Excellent skills in sales, negotiation, presentations, and business writing.
• Availability to travel as required.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
• Full proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong communication skills in person, over the phone, and via email.
