Status: Full-time

Salary: $95,000 per year

Located at the gateway to Québec City, near major bridges and highways, Travelodge Québec is a unionized property featuring 230 rooms and suites, an on-site restaurant, and over 12,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. Approximately 90 employees work here in a professional and dynamic environment.

We are seeking a General Manager to oversee the overall management of our hotel. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the property’s vision, profitability, operational alignment with business goals, and overall brand presence. You will work closely with the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall direction and leadership of the property in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure achievement of financial targets, service quality, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, internal policies, and union agreements.
  • Lead strategic projects including renovations, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and corporate offices.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to drive revenue, traffic, and guest loyalty.
  • Oversee the development and presentation of the annual budget and marketing plan.
  • Analyze financial reports and make decisions to optimize performance.
  • Promote effective communication across departments through the Director of Operations.
  • Provide inspirational and mobilizing leadership throughout the organization.
  • Maintain a healthy, productive work environment within a unionized setting.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the hotel industry, including in a senior management role, ideally in a unionized environment.
  • Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of food & beverage and/or sales is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong delegation skills, and team-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with high adaptability.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required for this position as we serve an international client.
