Status: Full-time

Salary: $24.57per hour

As a first cook, you will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of food, ensuring that it meets the high-quality standards of our establishment. You will work closely with the head chef and the kitchen team to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain efficient culinary operations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare the necessary ingredients for dish preparation, following established recipes and specifications.
  • Perform cooking, grilling, frying, steaming, and other cooking techniques to prepare dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards, including proper food storage, correct equipment handling, and regular cleaning of work areas.
  • Ensure that dishes are prepared within specified timelines and maintain effective coordination with other members of the kitchen team.
  • Monitor the quality of food products and report any anomalies or issues to the head chef.
  • Contribute to the creation of new dishes and the development of special menus, taking into account customer preferences and current trends.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain adequate inventory of food products and supplies needed for dish preparation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.

Requirements:

 

  • Previous work experience as a cook in a similar establishment.
  • In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and food hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work as part of a team and follow the instructions of the head chef.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Languages: Fluency in French is required. Proficiency in any other languages is an asset.
