Acquired by Tidan in 2018, this hotel is located in the heart of the metropolis of Montreal. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible through an underground passage adjacent to the Bell Centre and also via 1000 De La Gauchetière. This iconic Montreal hotel, with its 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, and 25 meeting rooms, was completely renovated in 2021 and can accommodate up to 1000 guests. Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Convention and Event Services, the Tour & Travel Coordinator is responsible for coordinating room blocks, particularly within the Tour & Travel segment, and assisting the Director of Convention and Event Services with all activities related to group and event management, as well as departmental operations.
Responsibilities
Room Block Management

Review files received from the Sales team.

Coordinate site inspections with clients and various departments and/or vendors.

Manage and follow up on room blocks.

Maintain close collaboration and communicate all relevant information to respective departments through communication tools such as convention resumes, purchase orders, etc.

Welcome groups upon arrival and ensure presence and availability throughout their events.

Attend departmental meetings such as forecast, credit, sales, and event management meetings, as required.

Review invoices, ensure accuracy, and follow up on payments.

Provide necessary information for thank-you letters and Marriott Bonvoy point allocations to Sales Coordinators.

Ensure the accuracy and timely updates of group information in the CI/TY system.

Stay informed of service developments and industry trends through information sources such as the Marriott website, Tourisme Montréal, and others.
Convention Services Coordination

Manage administrative tasks for the Convention Services department.

Assist the Director of Convention and Event Services with various assignments, including report preparation and follow-ups.

Support the Convention Services team in their daily operations.

Prepare and send proposals, quotations, and contracts to prospective clients.

Maintain thorough knowledge of our products, services, and industry trends to better advise clients and respond to their needs.

Experience and Qualifications

Previous experience in sales coordination or administrative support.

Degree in Hospitality Management (an asset).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

Knowledge of job-related software (an asset): Word, Excel, Outlook, CI/TY, Social Tables, PMS/Marsha.
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) in both spoken and written form is required for this position, as we serve an international clients.
