Banquet Captain

Job Summary

As Banquet Captain, you will serve as the management’s on-site representative, ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome and unparalleled attention throughout their experience.

You’ll work closely with the Banquet Manager to lead service teams, maintain high standards, and ensure every detail is flawlessly executed.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

·         Thoroughly understand the service requirements for each assigned event by reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, guest needs, buffet setups, and action stations.

·         Inspect the event space prior to service for cleanliness, proper setup, and functionality.

·         Coordinate with the Chef and Stewarding team regarding menu details and equipment needs.

·         Assign servers to stations and side duties based on departmental procedures.

·         Conduct pre-function meetings with service staff to ensure alignment on expectations and service flow.

·         Ensure all team members are properly groomed and in appropriate attire.

·         Oversee table setups for cleanliness and presentation.

·         Inspect buffet and reception areas for organization, cleanliness, and visual appeal.

·         Direct the pace and timing of service throughout the event.

·         Monitor and support team performance to ensure a smooth and professional guest experience.

·         Foster a positive, respectful team environment and collaborate to meet guest needs.

·         Address guest concerns promptly and courteously while remaining calm and focused.

·         Prior experience in upscale hotels or banquet settings with fine dining service.

·         Strong collaboration skills with culinary and service teams.

·         Knowledge and application of safety and sanitation standards when handling food and beverages.

·         Highly responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented.

·         Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while working cohesively within a team.
