Status: Part-time - Seasonal

Date of employment: Terrace opening from May to October.

Salary: 28.27$ per hour

Acquired by Tidan in 2018, this hotel is located in the heart of the metropolis of Montreal. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible through an underground passage adjacent to the Bell Centre and also via 1000 De La Gauchetière. This iconic Montreal hotel, with its 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, and 25 meeting rooms, was completely renovated in 2021 and can accommodate up to 1000 guests. Reporting to the restaurant supervisors, the bartender holds an essential position within our establishment. As a key member of the team, the bartender embodies hospitality and excellence in customer service. Responsible for preparing and serving a diverse range of beverages, the bartender creates a welcoming and memorable atmosphere for our guests. In addition to mastering the art of mixology, this role also involves constant interaction with customers, where attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction are paramount. The bartender thus plays a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for gastronomic excellence and hospitality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the establishment's standard recipes.
  • Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Take orders and ensure prompt and efficient service, adhering to the establishment's standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bar, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces.
  • Follow food safety policies and procedures and handle alcoholic beverages.
  • Manage beverage stocks and supplies, placing orders when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a consistent and memorable customer experience.
  • Cater to specific customer needs, including requests for customized cocktails.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of beverages, wines, and spirits offered by the establishment.

Requirements:

  • Interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Exhibit exemplary professional behaviors and attitudes such as autonomy, discretion, organization, creativity, etc.
  • Hold a diploma in bar service or mixology.
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience as a bartender or mixologist.
  • Have similar experience on a high-capacity terrace for at least one (1) season.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of beverages and bar equipment.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of sommelier practices.
  • Provide superior service to our clientele in line with quality standards.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team.
  • Proficient in billing software (Micros).
  • Handle billing and cash transactions.
  • Be bilingual in French and English, as we serve an international clientele.
  • Possess the ability to manage stress, high traffic, and work under pressure.

Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) in both spoken and written form is required for this position, as we serve an international client.
