About the role:

*Due to local regulations, priority will be given to candidates who are authorized to work in Canada and are fluent in both French and English, spoken and written.

The Assistant Director of Engineering reports directly to the Director of Engineering. His or her primary role is to assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire and safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, painting and decorating, and to respond to requests and issues in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while adhering to Four Seasons policies.

What you will do:

· Ensure the efficient execution of work orders, maintenance requests, and follow-up with relevant parties.

·Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and emergency equipment regulations.

·Oversee inventory, tools, and equipment management, including purchasing and supplier relations.

· Monitor operational and labor expenses while contributing to the development and adherence to the annual budget.

·Implement preventive maintenance programs and energy efficiency initiatives.

·Read and interpret technical drawings, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.

· Train staff on procedures, customer service, loss prevention, and safety standards.

·Respond effectively to emergency situations (fire, power outage, leaks, etc.).

·Collaborate professionally with internal teams and carry out any other related duties.

·Manage recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation of maintenance staff, including scheduling and daily performance monitoring.

What you bring:

· 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within a 5-star luxury environment;

·Possess a diploma or certification in HVAC, plumbing, stationary engineering, refrigeration, etc. Any other related field is a strong asset;

·Strong communication skills;

· Management experience and hands-on knowledge of infrastructure utilities, including electrical distribution, cold water, natural gas, potable water, and related equipment;

· Ability to work well under pressure and manage it positively and effectively;

· Solid knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electricity, and painting;

·Must be available days, evenings, holidays, and weekends to support the engineering team in case of emergencies requiring their expertise;

· Experience in managing and operating commercial pools;

·  Good knowledge of the Windows platform;

·Organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful.
