As a server, you will be responsible for providing quality service to customers in a dining establishment. You will be the main interface between customers and the kitchen, ensuring they have a pleasant and satisfying experience. Here are the main tasks associated with this position:
- Warmly welcome customers upon their arrival at the restaurant.
- Escort them to their table and present the menu.
- Respond to customer questions regarding dishes, drinks, or recommendations.
- Take customer orders accurately and attentively.
- Note special preferences, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
- Transmit orders to the kitchen and ensure their correct transmission.
Food and beverage service:
- Serve dishes and drinks to customers professionally and courteously.
- Ensure that dishes are presented attractively and meet customer expectations.
- Suggest accompaniments or order modifications if necessary.
Customer needs follow-up:
- Monitor tables attentively and anticipate customer needs, such as refilling water or bread.
- Respond promptly to special requests or issues reported by customers.
- Show sensitivity and special attention to customers with specific needs or requests.
Billing and payment:
- Present the bill to customers accurately and clearly.
- Collect payments and provide change if necessary.
- Handle electronic transactions (credit cards, contactless payments, etc.) securely and professionally.
Table cleaning and preparation:
- Clean and prepare tables for new customers.
- Ensure replenishment of condiments, napkins, menus, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the service area.
Compliance with hygiene and safety standards:
- Follow applicable food hygiene and safety standards.
- Handle food safely and adhere to sanitation rules.
- Report any potentially dangerous situations or incidents to management.
- Previous experience as a server is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage peak periods of activity.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of menus, beverages, and recommendations to answer customer questions.
- Flexibility in terms of working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, is required for this position, as we serve an international clientele.
