Hourly Rate: $17.88 + Tips

Job Summary

We are looking for a Server who is passionate about service and demonstrates a strong team spirit. A refined, elegant and welcoming demeanor is required to maintain the solid reputation of the restaurant. This person should be able to show empathy and goodwill with all guests and colleagues as well as demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

Core Responsibilities

  • Offer restaurant guests a unique and pleasant service in accordance with Four Seasons standards;

  • Anticipate guest needs;

  • Perform all necessary opening and closing tasks in the restaurant and set up tables as per required standards;

  • Remove and stock all tableware, porcelain, silverware, glassware, beverages and food;

  • Quickly move tables and chairs in the event of a last minute change of table and utensil set-up;

  • Serve plates whilst being able to explain their content;

  • Serve water, bread and butter during the meal period;

  • Serve coffee and tea; satisfy all requests while adhering to Four Seasons quality standards;

  • Ensure client satisfaction and take ownership of any problems that may arise, inform a supervisor when necessary;

  • Ability to serve at the restaurant, for room service and banquets during very busy periods;  

  • Report all minor or major incidents to the supervisor;

  • React calmly to all emergency situations that arise in the hotel;

  • Carefully and respectfully manipulate expensive equipment at the restaurant;

  • Extensive knowledge of how to serve wine and the wine menu;

  • Work closely with the Sommelier to ensure proper rotation of all wine products;

  • Have detailed knowledge of all restaurant menus;

  • Ability to use the hotel’s computer system (micros) for product billing, printing invoices and to close payments in the correct payment system;

  • Help assistant servers to carry trays as well as clear and set tables in very busy periods;

  • Properly present the different menus and wine lists by offering guests suggestions based on the Chef’s recommendations;    

  • Perform all other tasks or projects assigned by hotel management;


Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in the same role, ideally in a luxury hotel environment;

  • Strong command of the French and English languages;

  • An affinity for guest service;

  • Good interpersonal skills. This position involves a large volume of guest contact and excellent communication skills are required;

  • Basic bartending and cocktail knowledge;

  • Move about facility and stand for long periods of time;

  • The ability to carry up to 30lbs (13kg);

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts: days, nights, weekends and holidays;

  • The ideal candidate will also have solid food and wine knowledge, a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask;
