Job description

Reporting to the Director Conference Service and Events, the Sales Manager, Weddings & Social Events is responsible for the sale, planning and organization of all social events. An excellent collaborator, this person ensures the success of events through communication with the different departments both on property and at the head office. The candidate’s innate organization skills allow him (her) to efficiently manage priorities and work through challenges.   • Qualify and respond to all incoming inquiries for weddings and other social events (including holiday celebrations, family reunions, etc.), for multiple properties;
  • Have a global vision of the event and a very clear understanding of the client’s needs and expectations;
  • Propose menu choices, accommodation options, available equipment and all other products and services available to the client;
  • Coordinate and host site visits, menu tastings and other client meetings;
  • Prepare estimates and draft the service contract for each event;
  • Manage contracts, room blocks, floor plans, event calendar, take deposits and verify final billing;
  • Maintain good relations and constant communication with all departments and advise them of any changes concerning guests and events that could impact operations (reception, housekeeping, banquets, spa, etc.);
  • Participate in weekly meetings and ensure that each department has the necessary tools to accomplish their tasks;
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and suppliers to encourage referrals;
  • Be present on the day of the event to ensure the correct set-up of the room, welcome guests;
  • Identify potential challenges during events and act proactively in the face of unforeseen events;
  • Contact each client following their event to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Meet revenue targets for designated market;
  • Stay current with industry trends and know the competitive landscape;
  • Plan and attend various wedding shows;
  • Work with Director of Sales to continuously improve offer and stay competitive.


Qualifications and Skills Required

  • A passion for weddings, social events and hospitality;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a performance-driven mindset;
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail;
  • A willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy clients;
  • Ability to develop relationships with individuals at all levels, from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment;
  • Adaptable and at ease with managing priorities;
  • A history of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets in previous roles;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Bilingual, French and English;
  • Computer and systems savvy;
  • Degree in hospitality, event planning or other related field preferred but not required;
  • Proven wedding or event experience required;
  • Flexibility of schedule to align with various events.
