Job description

We are seeking a passionate Runner to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in coordinating dining service, ensuring dishes are delivered promptly and at the right temperature by closely collaborating with servers and the kitchen. Your ability to anticipate guests’ needs, manage order timing, and ensure impeccable dish service will contribute to delivering an exceptional gastronomic experience. Attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in maintaining our high standards. 

  

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Announce order tickets to the chef and the kitchen brigade at the pass. 
  • Ensure the consistency of dishes in terms of appearance and temperature before sending them to the dining room. 
  • Clear tables and assist with service tasks as needed. 
  • Help the kitchen team as needed, maintaining excellent communication. 
  • Demonstrate discretion, agility, and dexterity during your service in the dining area to ensure smooth and efficient operations. 
  • Ensure compliance with standards for the presentation and quality of dishes coming out of the kitchen and be the judge of what gets sent to the dining room. 
  • Ensure the workspace is always clean and safe. 
  • Clean plates before sending them to the tables. 
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the products to ensure quick and accurate service during the visual inspection of dishes. 
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and interact with our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. 
  • Be knowledgeable about the hotel’s offerings and schedules to provide comprehensive information to guests.

Requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • You hold a degree in hospitality from a recognized institution AND/OR have a minimum of one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant or reputable hotel. 
  • You are familiar with the operation of a point of sale (POS) system. 
  • You have the energy, stamina, and availability for this demanding role, with flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • You are bilingual in French and English for effective communication with an international clientele. 
  • You consistently maintain exemplary service standards. 
  • You are passionate, friendly, and professional, with a positive attitude and contagious enthusiasm.
