Under the supervision of the Director of Rooms, the successful candidate is dynamic and creative and promotes an inspiring and proactive work environment. The Room Supervisor ensures that a high level of service is provided to guests through effective management and proper planning of reception and team activities. Organized and with an excellent sense of priorities, the hosting supervisor is actively involved in the smooth running of the operations. He demonstrates a great sense of listening and empathy in his interactions with guests and members of his team. He evolves the standards of customer service and ensures their implementation by providing his team members with the support and support they need to perform their work properly.

Essential functions of the job:

  • Manage the work of the reception team and housekeeping staff;
  • Coordinate and participate in all reception activities (receptionists, valets & concierges);
  • Coach, support, motivate and mobilize his team;
  • Make work schedules based on occupancy and productivity goals;
  • Ensure and maintain the highest level of cleanliness in public areas of the hotel and apply the standards of the company;
  • Optimize the satisfaction of internal and external customers;
  • Cultivate and maintain a collaborative spirit within the hospitality and interdepartmental team to identify and exceed guest expectations;
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction during and after service delivery;
  • Maximize the performance of each member of his team;
  • Collaborate in the establishment of work methods / procedures to ensure the performance of their team;
  • Ensure that employees have the necessary equipment and tools to perform their work safely;
  • Participate in the determination of manpower requirements, the recruitment process as well as the reception and integration of new employees;
  • Support the Accommodation Manager by performing any tasks deemed necessary for the proper functioning of the department.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Positive and inspiring leadership;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to set own priorities and those of team members;
  • Ability to creatively and professionally handle unforeseen situations;
  • High level of professionalism and integrity;
  • Perfect oral and written bilingualism and excellent communication skills;
  • Relevant experience in hospitality;
  • Experience in team supervision an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of hotel management software (Opera, an asset);
  • Good knowledge of the Office Suite;
  • Flexible schedules (day, evening and weekends).
