Summary

The Four Seasons Hotel Montréal is looking for a Public Relations Manager with passion for excellence, expertise in communications and proven PR and social media experience. As a PR Manager, you will work with the Marketing Director with the support of our Public Relations corporate office, on generating visibility for the Hotel through various media outlets.

You will be called upon to assist in the development of marketing/advertising initiatives as well as the development and execution of the annual public relations/social media plans and also focus on the Hotel website, the development of a Hotel e-Newsletter, manage the social media channels and all digital marketing tools.


Core Responsibilities

·        Create innovative public relations initiatives that will increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel, the spa, culinary programs, services, and personnel;

·        In conjunction with the Director of Public Relations, assist in the development and execution of media relations activities and support the annual strategic communications plan for the Hotel;

·        Maintain professional relationships with media, support goals outlined in the PR plan, including the distribution of media releases, media kits and other PR related material;  

·        Pitch and secure local and international media coverage;

·        Identify and maximize opportunities with all media outlets through careful research and a targeted editorial pitch plan for both the group and leisure segments;

·        Assist with the management of social media channels and pro-actively create engaging content.

·        Assist with media, influencer and blogger visits, including itineraries and reservations;

·        Work with internal stakeholders and PR agencies to implement projects and campaigns.

·        Coordinate photo and video shoots;

·        Monitor media coverage and update Hotel press kit;

·        Maintain and manage media and influencer contact lists;

·        Draft media releases;

·        Monitor and respond to third party review sites;

·        Work closely with the Sales Team, create content and copy for key communication channels such as websites, e-newsletters, B2B channels and Four Seasons platforms.

·        Maintain current image library and video footage, fulfill request;

·        Ensure initiatives address specific needs as outlined in the marketing plan and capitalize on unexpected opportunities as they arise;

·        Utilize all available electronic marketing tools to increase exposure to all available outlets, including the development of an eNewsletter; oversight of E-Mail broadcasts; Customized Mini-Sites; use constantly and manage all social media pages such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. and all related digital opportunities;

·        Proof-read all marketing material, including:  collateral, direct mail, advertising, printed promotional pieces, guest correspondence, etc;

·        Keep upper management informed in a prompt and comprehensive manner of all problematic or particular situations brought to their attention so as to ensure proper corrective measures can be applied as quickly as possible;

·        Have a basic understanding of colleague’s business partnerships in order to assist them and answer eventual client inquiries when colleagues are absent;

·        Participate in Lobby Lizard shifts;

·        Execute all other tasks or projects assigned by management; 

Requirements

Desired Qualifications and Skills

 

·        Degree in communications, public relations, hotel management or related field.

·        Ability to communicate flawlessly in English and French, both orally and in writing;

·        Understanding of the media landscape, experience in media relations, ability identify media angles and to pitch them journalists;

·        Knowledge of local press outlets and influencers;

·        Strong knowledge of social media platforms, ability to create engaging content.

·        Knowledge of digital analytics platforms;

·        Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment;

·        Have a good resistance to stress and manage it positively and effectively;

·        Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment;

·        Demonstrate good team spirit;

·        Interest and ability to provide outstanding service to our internal, external customers and our suppliers;

·        Excellent presentation and elocution, in French and English, and interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele;

·        Maintain a professional appearance and behave in a mature manner and with integrity at all times, including outside the hotel while on business;

·        Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment;

·        Be organized, meticulous and resourceful;

·        Demonstrate creativity and initiative;

·        Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point, Adobe, Lotus Notes, Delphi and Opera;

·        2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
