Department: Ritz-Carlton Residences – Reception

Work: Full Time

Classification: Porter / Bellman

The Reception Department has the first and the last contact with the customer and plays a key role in its loyalty

Job Description: Your assignments will consist of:

Meeting and Greeting the residents and their guests and / or employees

Escort the residents and their guests and / or employees at their residence and carry their luggage and packages;

Answer the various questions of residents;

Assist residents on departure and carry luggage;

Be fully aware of what functions are going on in the Hotel

Assist with keeping lobby area and other common areas clean and orderly;

Maintain the confidentiality of residents and ensure their safety;

Provide coverage for doorman, as needed

Provide assistance to the Concierge, as needed

Work all the 4 shifts, including the night shift

Perform all other duties, as required

Provide gracious, attentive and friendly service

Refers to: The Director of Residences and the Assistant to the Director of Residences


Skills and requirements:

Must be available to work all 4 shifts, including weekends, holidays and night shifts;

 Have previous work experience in a similar position in a luxury establishment

 Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written; knowledge of a 3rd language will be considered an asset;

 Have a good knowledge of the city of Montreal and its surroundings;

 Follow and respect the guidelines and standards of Ritz-Carlton Residences;

 Be motivated and in excellent physical shape, work under pressure, demonstrate initiative, work in a team and

 provide mutual assistance;

 Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period of time or for entire work shift

 Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects

 Uniform and excellent grooming at all times;

 Quiet, polite, patient, smiling and flexible while being diplomatic and discreet;

 Interpersonal skills and know how to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, their guests and / or employees,

 as well as any other person who comes to the Residences;

 Adapt to a diversified clientele and ensure a service of exceptional quality;
