Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and in collaboration with the Accounting Department, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, the completion of the complete payroll cycle and the processing of group insurance and benefits. He/she is also responsible for updating all data related to the employee's personal records in the system. The incumbent will work closely with various collaborators within Germain hotels and restaurants across several provinces.


Responsibilities :

  • Coordination, planning and supervision of the payroll department;
  • Compliance of information related to employee records;
  • Validating various data (hours worked, vacation, statutory holidays, training, overtime, illness, etc.) and ensuring their integrity in the payroll system, which may include data entry;
  • Compliance to end of employment various steps including electronic transmission of employment records;
  • Compliance with the labour standards of the various provinces;
  • Management of group insurance (registration, billing, etc.);
  • Management of work accident files;
  • Production of requisitions for tax deductions and benefits on a monthly and/or periodic basis;
  • Registrations and annual declarations;
  • Production of various payroll reports including the applicable subsidies;
  • Quality of customer service to managers and employees regarding payroll, group insurance, group RRSPs, etc.;
  • Continuous process improvement;
  • Performs all other duties as requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

Qualifications :

  • ACP Title– Level 1 (+ in process of obtaining other levels);
  • College degree in accounting or a related discipline;
  • 5 years experience in payroll processing and group insurance management;
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations related to payroll processing in the various Canadian provinces is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Employeur D, an asset;
  • Fluent in French and English, a third language is an asset;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word);
