Position:  Hotel Minibar Operations Manager

Reports to: Regional Director of Operations/Vice President of Operations

Overall Objective:

The position will be responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day In-Room Refreshment Center (Minibar Department) operations at The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, a large, upscale hotel in downtown Montreal, as well as training and supervision of hotel staff in following operational best practices, SOP’s and use of our Point of Sale computer system. The candidate will have full P&L responsibilities for their account/s and serve as a liaison between Minibar Systems and the hotel. The Minibar Operations Manager will engage in the above referenced activities in a professional and business-like manner in order to achieve maximum customer satisfaction, hotel referenceability and company growth.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity working in an upscale hotel environment and possess the following traits: knowledge of union work rules, excellent presentation skills, detail-oriented, at least a mid-level accounting aptitude and proficiency in the use of Excel, Word and Email systems.

Specific Responsibilities:

Daily Operations

·         Run and action daily reports from the SmartCube S3 POS system

·         Allocate daily work responsibilities to Minibar department staff

·         Monitor system and staff performance

·         Follow Inventory control procedures

·         Bar maintenance, troubleshooting and repair

Financial Reporting

·         Daily revenue reconciliation between PMS and Minibar's SmartCube S3 POS system

·         Maintain and update spreadsheets with sales, labor, accounting and inventory numbers

·         Provide financial reporting to Minibar corporate and hotel in the form of Minibar Operations Monthly and other weekly and monthly reports

Liaison Work

·         Facilitate communication between Hotel and Minibar management

·         Work with hotel management and Human Resources on Minibar attendant disciplinary needs

·         Proactively participate in hotel’s departmental and operations meetings on a regular basis

·         Contract compliance

·         Resolve Hotel and Minibar accounting differences

·         Participate in knowledge sharing via Minibar Systems’ conference calls

Terms of Employment:

 Full time position working daytime hours and offering a competitive salary, bonus and benefits. Salary and bonus combined up to CAD $54,000 depending on experience.
