Job description
The Head Dishwasher acts as a team leader for the dishwashers. He/she is responsible for the training of the divers and for the smooth running of the department. He/she supports the work of the kitchen and the dining room by ensuring the cleaning of dishes and equipment. In general, he/she contributes through his/her work to the maintenance of the cleanliness of the workplace. May be called upon to perform other duties to assist the kitchen and dining room crews during busy periods.
Essential Job Functions:
- Participate in recruitment;
- Train dishwashing team members;
- Establish and implement cleaning procedures;
- Plan team work schedules with the Executive Chef;
- Ensure the cleanliness of the plunge areas, kitchens and work stations (storage shelves, carts and plates);
- Participate in the daily operations of the dishwasher;
- Operate and maintain the dishwasher according to manufacturer’s recommendations;
- Classify and store clean dishes in designated areas;
- Classify and store clean dishes in the designated areas; Ensure the supply of cleaning products for his station;
- Perform and ensure periodic maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
Skills Required:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar position;
- Available to work days, evenings and weekends;
- Strong interest in teamwork;
- Ability to react well under pressure;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Organizational skills;
- Self-starter;
- Excellent communication skills.
