Description

Under the supervision of the Customer Experience Manager, the Chief Concierge ensures that a high level of service is provided to guests. He demonstrates positive leadership and supports the entire hospitality team for whom he is a resource person. Passionate about gastronomy, culture and design, he wants to share his discoveries and benefit guests and colleagues. He has a keen interest in local culture and is constantly on the lookout for what makes Montreal a unique place in North America. Over time, he has woven a considerable network of contacts that allows him to craft personalized and unforgettable experiences for each guest. An excellent communicator, he creates a relationship of trust with the guests and encourages a warm exchange with all internal and external stakeholders of the institution.

 

Essential job functions:

 

•        In collaboration with the Client Experience Director, develop a spirit of collaboration within the hospitality team to identify and surpass the expectations of guests;

•        Supervise and train the concierge team;

•        Develop concierge tools for the entire reception team and keep them up-to-date;

•        Offer personalized service to guests by advising them on attractions and activities in the area based on their interests, budget and length of stay;

•        Respond to various inquiries by phone, email, in person, before, during and after the hotel stay;

•        Make arrivals and departures as well as making reservations;

•        Establish a culture of discretion and respect the privacy of guests;

•        Establish and maintain close working relationships with all hotel departments to ensure maximum cooperation and productivity;

•        Participate in the recruitment of his team;

•        Collaborate in welcoming and integrating staff;

•        Contribute to the determination of training / coaching needs and ensure follow-up;

•        Participate in scheduling management in collaboration with the Customer Experience Manager;

•        Ensure the availability of equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the department;

•        Perform various administrative duties inherent to the concierge;

Requirements

Qualifications and skills required:

 

•        From two (2) to three (3) years as a concierge in a luxury hotel;

•        Relevant supervisory experience in hotel environments;

•        Positive and inspiring leadership;

•        Ability to effectively manage priorities and time as well as ability to manage multiple tasks at a time;

•        Excellent communication skills;

•        Passionate about Montreal and its attractions;

•        In the news gastronomic, cultural and tourist;

•        Interest in design and fashion;

•        Clefs d'Or member an asset;

•        Proficiency in both official languages, orally and written, third language an asset;

•        Excellent knowledge of hotel software (Opera Asset);

•        Mastery of the MS Office suite;

•        Hotel training (an asset);

•        Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends);
