Job description
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our dynamic and passionate team. As Head Chef, you will play a central role in directly supervising the kitchen team and managing daily operations. You will lead menu planning, inventory management, and cost control efforts. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the preparation and quality of dishes at every stage, meticulously following recipes and applying top culinary techniques. Efficient organization of workstations, strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and motivating the team to maintain high standards will be key. Your ability to collaborate closely with team members will ensure an exceptional and consistent culinary experience for our guests.
WHAT’LL YOU DO
- Impact the restaurant’s reputation in collaboration with the executive chef.
- Develop a strong sense of belonging and foster a solid team spirit within the brigade.
- Plan and prepare menus for the restaurant.
- Inspect the kitchen and its parameters daily.
- Ensure guest experience through prompt service and quality of dishes served.
- Mentor and train brigade members, particularly the management team.
- Manage brigade members (hiring, training, scheduling, task delegation, performance evaluation, discipline, etc.).
- Manage financial resources (budget preparation, operating cost control, etc.) and materials (inventory management, supplies, supplier negotiations, etc.).
- Communicate and collaborate with the dining room management team to ensure smooth operation of restaurant events.
- Actively participate in maintaining cleanliness of workspaces, including food preparation and storage areas, strictly adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Take pride and responsibility for each dish prepared, significantly contributing to enhancing the overall quality of dishes served.

Requirements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in culinary arts or 5-6 years of experience in kitchens, primarily in hotel establishments.
- MAPAQ Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate
- Strong ability to work in a team and ensure smooth communication, with proficiency in French and English for communication with international suppliers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, fostering team development and motivation.
- Excellent stress management, ability to work calmly and maintain high performance in busy periods.
- Developed organizational skills for efficient work and meeting deadlines.
- Energy, endurance, and availability for a demanding role, with flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
