Job description

Immerse yourself in the captivating universe of Corner Collection, a prestigious portfolio that embodies decades of history in hospitality and gastronomy. We are firmly committed to leading globally, crafting exceptional experiences across our acclaimed hotels, spas, and restaurants. At Corner Collection, we live by our four core values: community-mindedness, passion, initiative, and a pursuit of excellence.

Our flagship properties, Hôtel Nelligan and Hôtel Place d’Armes, have been distinguished as Canada’s top urban hotels by the prestigious Travel & Leisure - Best Awards 2023.

Join us to play a pivotal role in our mission to exceed expectations and create unforgettable, bespoke moments for our guests.

We are seeking a passionate Group Services Manager (CSM) to join our dynamic team at Corner Collection, located in the historic Old Montreal district. Reporting to the events management team, you will play a key role in planning and organizing events and groups.

As an exceptional collaborator, you will ensure the success of events through effective communication with the hotel’s operational departments and the head office. Your innate sense of organization will allow you to manage priorities with ease while demonstrating a strong ability to handle unforeseen circumstances.

Connect with us to open a world of opportunities and contribute to the success of events in a unique and historic setting!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Take full charge of event management once the sale is finalized, ensuring a smooth transition between sales and implementation.

  • Quickly gain a thorough understanding of client expectations and needs by analyzing priorities such as the event's importance, the number of participants, duration, budget, etc.

  • Offer personalized solutions by presenting a range of menus, accommodation options, available equipment, and other products and services tailored to the client's needs.

  • Obtain and validate all necessary elements for the success of events, including the room list, oversight of blocks, creation and adjustments of BEOs, VIP reception, on-site logistics management, and coordination with external vendors.

  • Write detailed summaries for each group and ensure follow-ups with the relevant departments to guarantee the smooth running of events.

  • Create and execute accurate purchase orders, including all necessary information for the event, such as menus, room setup, and billing.

  • Manage room blocks, room layouts, collect deposits, and verify final billing to ensure rigorous financial management.

  • Maintain harmonious relationships and constant communication with all hotel departments, keeping them informed of any changes regarding guests and events that may impact their operations.

  • Participate in weekly meetings to ensure that each concerned department has the necessary tools to complete their tasks (BEO, room layout, food and beverage instructions).

  • Develop strong relationships with clients and vendors, encouraging referrals and loyalty.

  • Welcome the client upon arrival and conduct a pre-conference review, including introductions to department heads, an overview of events, and guest arrival details.

  • Be present on the day of the event to ensure the accuracy of room setup, greet guests, and oversee the smooth running of the event.

  • Proactively identify potential challenges during events and act quickly to manage unforeseen circumstances.

  • Contact each client after their event to ensure their satisfaction and gather constructive feedback.

  • Achieve or exceed sales and revenue targets for the designated market.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and understand the competitive landscape to remain at the forefront of the market.

  • Plan and organize participation in various trade shows to promote services and develop new business opportunities.

Other tasks may be assigned, and so we’re counting on your flexibility and resourcefulness!
