Location: Marriott Québec Centre-ville, a luxury hotel situated in the heart of Québec City. Our establishment stands out with its warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing guests easy access to the city’s main attractions such as the Québec City Convention Centre and Château Frontenac. About the Position: We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our hotel and ensure guest satisfaction while maximizing operational performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and motivating a diverse team, developing strategies to enhance guest experiences, and ensuring compliance with the standards of Marriott International and Urgo Hotels Canada. Responsibilities:

Operational:

  • Ensure the smooth daily operation of all hotel departments.
  • Regularly inspect the hotel and address needs with department supervisors.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of suites to identify trends.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and food safety audits.
  • Train and assist the team in managing schedules according to budgetary objectives and operational needs.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop sales plans.
  • Master sales strategies and revenue management.
  • Ensure that customer-facing staff understand the hotel’s sales strategies.

Financial:

  • Plan operational and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Communicate financial objectives to department supervisors.
  • Manage banking operations and cash flow.

Development and Associate Relations:

  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate staff.
  • Evaluate the performance of supervisory staff.
  • Establish effective communication systems.
  • Develop training opportunities and promote a motivating work environment.

Partnerships and Community Relations:

  • Manage contracts and obligations with partners and the community.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience in a hotel chain, with at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Inspirational and unifying leader.
  • Mandatory bilingualism (spoken and written).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • University degree in administration or hotel management.
  • Knowledge of hotel management software.
