The General Manager ensures the operation and proper functioning of the hotel while respecting the values ​​of the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) banner. In accordance with established objectives, he or she participates in the development of strategic planning and prioritizes daily activities.

In addition, he or she is in charge of optimizing profitability, encouraging the development of the skills of the team in place, and creating and maintaining unparalleled customer service.

Reporting to the owner, the responsibilities and essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to;

Develop and implement the action plan as well as company policies and procedures
Analyze activity reports, sales reports, etc. and discuss it with the owner
Coordinate between the different services of the establishment
Ensure customer satisfaction during and after their stay in the establishment
Know operational processes, measure their effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement
Guide and supervise operations in order to maintain a work environment that contributes to the achievement of objectives
Participate in the recruitment, training and development of staff
Carry out contribution assessments and set performance and development objectives for all employees
Lead, motivate and inspire a team of hospitality professionals in daily activities by creating a positive work environment conducive to good working relationships
Assist in the development of budgets as well as the sales and marketing plan
Analyze sales reports in order to implement the necessary actions to optimize revenue
Encourage customer service standards in accordance with IHG banner policies and procedures
Ensure the general maintenance of the hotel and plan preventive maintenance jointly with the maintenance manager and the owner
Participate in meetings every two weeks with the owner
Represent the hotel to sector associations, business communities, government authorities and customers

Skills for human resources management (management of work teams, conflict management, etc.)
Sales, marketing and negotiation skills
Professional attitudes and behavior (aptitudes for teamwork, autonomy, dynamism, interpersonal skills, honesty, versatility, sense of initiative, sense of organization, etc.)
Knowledge of labor standards, basic principles of occupational health and safety
Knowledge of management principles and relevant IT systems
Excellent knowledge of the tourism industry and customer needs
Leadership and decision-making ability
Stress tolerance
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, in French and English
Level of education: University degree in administration or management of tourism and hospitality
Number of years of relevant experience required: 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position or in operations.
Technical qualification: Knowledge of OPERA software (an asset)
