Description
POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing outstanding service to our guests by conducting check-ins and check-outs and providing hotel and city information. The Front Desk Agent is expected to listen and resolve issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

-Provide excellent service to our guests by greeting them warmly, anticipating their needs and thanking them sincerely; 

-Warmly execute guest arrivals and departures, reservations, changes or cancellations; 

-Secure payment method; verify and adjust billing; 

-Count cash at the beginning and end of the shift and secure it at all times; 

-Complete cash register and closing reports in the computer system; 

-Process all types of payments, adjustment vouchers, installments, correction vouchers and miscellaneous charges; Provide change to guests upon request ; 

-Activate and file room keys; 

-Generate and review daily reports and logs; 

-Process all guest requests and communicate messages; 

-Provide guests with explanations and information regarding room features and supplies, amenities, services and hotel hours of operation; 

-Provide information about the city and may suggest activities of interest; 

-Ensure that any outstanding requests or issues from the previous day are prioritized and resolved; 

-Communicate in clear, professional and courteous language; 

-Answer the telephone using proper etiquette; 

-Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; Support his/her team to achieve common goals ; 

-Inform management of any theft reported by a guest ; 

-Follow all company policies and procedures ; 

-Maintain confidentiality of private and confidential information; 

-Protect company assets; 

-Report accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to the supervisor on duty; 

-Print out contingency lists to have a record of all guests in case of emergency; 

-Reflect a clean and professional appearance; Wear uniform according to company standards ; 

-Perform any other related duties when requested. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

-Professional or college education in hospitality, tourism or related field; 

-Experience in a customer service position for at least one (1) year; 

-Experience as a hotel receptionist is an asset; 

-Knowledge of OnQ reception software, an asset.

-Communicate effectively in written and verbal form in English and French; 

-Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times; 

-Possess organizational skills and attention to detail; 

-Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills; 

-Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to listen empathetically to guests' needs or complaints; 

-Ability to make decisions and solve problems on your own; 

-Flexibility regarding scheduling: weekends, mornings, evenings, holidays and nights; night shifts for night auditor replacement purposes may be required. Additional training is provided for this purpose; 

-Be able to work standing most of the time ; 

-Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 15 pounds without assistance.
