Description

Are you seeking a new and exciting job opportunity in the sales and hospitality industry?  Would you like to collaborate in the opening of a luxurious hotel who is a leader in the Montreal hospitality industry?

Our client, the Mount Stephen Hotel is seeking a Director of Sales to join their team.  As a member of the prestigious organization “The Leading Hotels of the World”, the Mount Stephen is a new 5-star hotel located downtown of Montreal with 90 rooms and sky-lofts, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, some of which have a private terrace as well as three banquet halls that can accommodate up to 500 guests.  As the opening is planned for March, the person would have to start in January.  The Director of Sales’ main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop the annual sales and marketing plan and monitor it on a daily basis;

  • Draft reports and sales projections;

  • Manage, retain and prospect the portfolio that will be attributed to them;

  • Demonstrate leadership to help the team achieve its goals;

  • Provide ongoing support relating to training and procedures for the sales team;

  • Establish, develop and maintain a network of contacts;

  • Monitor and implement existing procedures and policies;

  • Write services offers;

  • Participate in networking events;

  • Implement and maintain good working relationships with all department heads.


Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales in a 5-star luxury hotel;

  • Experience with the opening of a hotel is an asset;

  • Perfectly bilingual (French/English) and good communication skills;

  • Excellent knowledge of the luxury hotel market;

  • Must be available for several business trips and to work occasionally on weekends;

  • Good knowledge of computerized systems (Microsoft Office, sales systems, etc.);

  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.

We are looking for a Director of Sales with good interpersonal and managerial skills and who is autonomous and dynamic.  This person must have strong analytical skills, be creative and have a strategic vision.
