Job description

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Director of Event Sales and Services leads our servicing team and works closely with operations to create and execute flawless events. The perfect candidate will be able to plan, organize and supervise the work of the team, creating engagement and motivation to attain the goals. This person has a proven track record in handling multifaceted events and improving service standards. Responsibilities:

-        Recruit, hire, train, manage and inspire all members of the Event Sales and Services team, providing guidance and tools to ensure their professional growth;

-        Monitor performance and activities of the team to ensure revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met;

-          Provide leadership in successfully organizing events; contract management, room blocks, floor plans, BEOs, event pre-planning timelines, forms and payments;

-          Elaborate, enforce, and continuously analyse new standard procedures and policies, with the goal of improving the workflow and streamlining the processes;

-          Participate in sales and event management activities to support the team in periods of high occupancy;

-          Maintain good relations and constant communication with all departments and advise them of any changes concerning guests and events that could impact operations (reception, housekeeping, dining room, spa, etc.);

-          Participate in weekly meetings and ensure that each department has the necessary tools to accomplish their tasks (BEO, seating plan and food and beverage instructions);

-          Develop strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals;

-          Collaborate with the Marketing and F&B teams to develop attractive new menus and packages;

-        Stay current with industry trends and know the competitive landscape;

-          Work closely with the Director of Sales to evaluate challenges and opportunities for growth and to continuously improve service offer;

 


Requirements

Qualifications and Skills Required:

-          Exceptional interpersonal skills and a performance-driven mindset;

-          Highly organised with a keen eye for detail;

-          A willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy clients;

-          Ability to develop relationships with individuals at all levels, from diverse backgrounds and cultures;

-          Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment;

-          Adaptable and at ease with managing priorities;

-          Excellent communication skills;

-          Bilingual, French and English;

-          Computer and systems savvy;

-          Degree in hospitality, event planning or other related field preferred but not required;

-          Proven wedding or event experience required;

-          Flexibility of schedule to align with various events.
