Hotel Overview:  For more than a century, Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu has welcomed visitors to a rich tradition of hospitality and elegance in the heart of Charlevoix region. A full menu of activities await those in search of adventure and sports.  Summary of Responsibilities: 
 
Under the operations manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following
 
  • Planning for staff requirements, recruitment, training and development
  • Creating a strong and dynamic atmosphere for the restaurant at the heart of the hotel
  • Maintaining a work environment that is attractive to prospective staff members whilst keeping current staff motivated
  • Being proactive towards working relationships
  • Establishing budgets and forecasts from working with the finance team
  • Putting control measures in place for different areas in the restaurant (cost of food and drink, productivity, inventory etc.)
  • Being responsible for setting the price ranges for different menus and any other restaurant-related items
  • Ensuring that financial targets are met and that the internal structure of the organisation is well-respected
  • Clearly establishing the different operating standards and procedures in each supporting department
  • Ensuring that the company’s standards of service are maintained permanently
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction and that customer comments are addressed and followed up in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that health and hygiene standards are respected and applied
  • Assuring a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety programme
  • Participating in the development of menus and wine and drink lists
  • Creating and promoting an events programme
  • In partnership with the sales and marketing team, creating and putting in place a communication and sales plan for each supporting department
  • Analysing new trends in the restaurant and using these to create future strategies to maximise profits
  • Acting as an ambassador in the local region
  • Be constantly looking for new and creative ways to improve service and increase business

Requirements

 

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the restaurant industry as a manager in a luxury service environment
  • Good leadership qualities and an ability to analyse and make decisions quickly and according to our values
  • Good IT skills including the ability to use Office
  • Knowledge of the systems POS Silverware, Opéra, Minibar System and Avero is preferred
  • A college degree in hotel/restaurant management or another related field is preferred
  • The ability to analyse data and trends and to create strategies to improve results
  • Goal-orientated, flexible and the ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication
  • Good teamwork skills and a high level of professionalism, administrative skills, ambition and determination
