The Director of IT is responsible for providing a high level of operational availability and stability for both standard network and hotel industry specific technology. The Director of IT ensures critical systems are available twenty-four (24) hours per day; establishes and maintains user procedures and hardware familiarization for all systems; establishes and maintains system security procedures consistent with control requirements and corporate policy. The Director of IT maintains accurate records of system files; software and hardware issues and service requirements
Core Responsibilities
Maintains effective support for end user support process, other systems, including back office, sales & catering and human resources applications or any other property application;
The Director of IT is responsible for network support and security of Hotel network, Active Directory maintenance, Server Infrastructure maintenance, Network Infrastructure maintenance, Network protection and failover tools implementation (Firewall, web security, multi-homing devices, etc);
The Director of IT administers Microsoft program; establishes and maintains, tests and monitors backup plan for all systems to ensure protection from loss of data and ensure backups are carried out in accordance with corporate and local policies;
Maintains and promotes Four Seasons core technology standards as outlined in the Four Seasons IT Core Standards database; As required, participates in and leads the co-ordination of new systems acquisitions, corporate initiated major projects and technology implementations.
Provides direct support to customers and support technique for conferences and reception rooms
Assists the Director of Finance in the administration of everything related to IT maintenance and service contracts and is responsible for the study of maintenance, service contracts, contract negotiations and tenders
Qualifications and Skills
The candidate must have at least five years of experience in a computer position in a hotel.
Having project management experience and knowledge of hospitality applications such as PMS, HSIA, POS is an asset
A university degree in computer science is preferable.
Knowledge and support of Microsoft Desktop OS and applications
Knowledge of specific hospitality industry applications and interfaces (i.e. Opera, Delphi, Back Office, Spa, Workday) is desirable;
Advanced proficiency in oral and writing French is required
