Reporting to the hotel's Sales & Marketing Manager, your main task will be to assist customers in planning their events by guiding them in their needs for surface and set-up, menu selection, food and beverage coordination, etc. You will be responsible for producing and revising banquet order forms as required, taking deposits and ensuring proper planning of activities held in the hotel's various rooms, while optimizing facilities and customer satisfaction. You will also coordinate the room blocks of groups having banquet events by obtaining nominative room lists, ensuring the release of rooms in the systems on the dates indicated in the contracts, and taking deposits. You will plan pre- and post-event meetings with guests and banquet staff, and coordinate with other hotel departments. As part of your day-to-day operations, you'll also be responsible for sending out invoices and allocating points obtained through the Marriott Bonvoy program. The position is mostly Monday to Friday, but you'll be called upon to start earlier, finish later and travel on weekends on rare occasions.
We are looking for a candidate who is self-reliant, dynamic, diplomatic, with a sense of organization and initiative, and who has a college diploma in hotel management and one year's experience in a similar position, with knowledge of the catering and banqueting industry.
