Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chef and or Sous Chef, the Cook assists the Sous Chef by performing various tasks involved in the preparation of dishes. This includes setting up the kitchen, preparing dishes, assembling plates and maintaining the cleanliness of the work area.


Prepares the ingredients required for the preparation of dishes.
Sets up the workstation in preparation for the various services.
Prepares, cooks and seasons dishes according to the recipes and by applying the appropriate techniques.
Assembles plates, ensuring that presentation standards are met.
Maintains food storage and preparation areas.
Applies hygiene and sanitation standards.
Applies occupational health and safety standards.
Communicates in clear, professional and courteous language with other team members ;
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others;
Follow all company policies and procedures;
Maintain confidentiality of private and confidential information related to his/her work;
Protect company assets;
Report accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to the supervisor on duty;
Performs all other duties necessary for the proper operation of the kitchen.

Diploma (DEP) in professional cooking from a recognized establishment.

- A minimum of two years experience in the kitchen, ideally in the hotel industry.

- Experience in staff supervision.


Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times;

Organizational skills and attention to detail;

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills;

Availability: days, evenings, weekends.

Ability to work on your feet for long hours.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 15 pounds.

Communicate effectively in writing and speaking, in French and English.
