Head Chef - Yoko Luna by Jegantic Group

 


JEGantic Group (Bord’Elle, The Farsides)  is seeking an experienced Head Chef to open their upcoming, high profile restaurant in downtown Montreal.  Yoko Luna will be the largest supper club venue to open up in Canada totalling 18,000 sq ft of restaurant space. Yoko Luna will be introducing Nikkei cuisine to Montreal while providing guests with an award winning mixology program. 


Ideal candidates must have experience in cooking Japanese and/or Peruvian cuisine. The Head Chef must have stable tenures, keen attention to detail, ability to manage large scale operations and a proven track record of mentorship and managing teams under pressure. They must also have excellent references.

Starting salary $ 85,000


Requirements

Requirements


• Minimum 3+ year experience in Chef de Cuisine, or Head Chef role (or higher)

• Experience cooking Japanese and/or Peruvian cuisine

• Knowledge of sushi is a must

• Organized and comprehensive purchasing experience

• Strong, local vendor relations

• Inventory control, menu, plate & labor costing

• Experience leading a kitchen team of 20+ employees

• Thorough knowledge of food handling practices including a food protection certificate (MAPAQ)

• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coach a dynamic team

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Passion for success, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence

• Intermediate computer skills & knowledge

• French and English speaking is a must
