Job description
Under the supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Banquet Sales Manager will have to:
Respond to all sales inquiries (meeting, banquet, group and other) accurately, timely and in a professional manner.
Selling Rooms, Banquet, Food, Beverage, Audio Visual, Meeting Space and other services.
Determine and coordinate all needs of the customer.
Coordination of all groups as contracted by the Sales team. Contact and provide appropriate follow-up on all signed/contracted business.
Create Banquet Event Orders for all functions.
Type correspondence, reports and necessary forms i.e. contracts, as well as prepare proposals or other document as directed.
Pre-and Post event communication.
Closing sales and meeting established long and short-term business goals.
Provide an effective communication and information with the hotel team with regards to the details of upcoming group, meeting events and special events. Ensure that the meetings and related functions are executed to exceed the client’s expectations.
Develops strong customer relationships through appropriate client communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction.
Work with sales team to achieve required departmental and hotel goals, and exceed revenue quota on monthly and quarterly basis.
Have current knowledge of hotel rates, strategies, discounts and promotions.
Assist hotel with implementing hotel specific selling strategies.
Represents themselves and the hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service focused approach and a caring, sincere attitude at all times.
Account Service and Management: Maintains well documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner.
Work with the Accounting Department to ensure that the billing information is handled properly.
Establish short and long terms goals.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the guest needs.
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
Participate to the Managers on Duty Program.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
College diploma in related field.
Previous similar experience required.
Hospitality Degree or Diploma and completion of industry related selling courses are considered assets.
Must be thorough and detail oriented with strong organizational and negotiation skills.
Have the ability to maintain excellent rapport with our existing clients.
Possess excellent communications and problem solving skills.
Proficient in advance computer knowledge.
Must be bilingual in French and English, written and verbal.
Established industry
contacts and knowledge of market is considered an asset.
