This iconic and emblematic hotel in Montreal was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 1000 customers. Under the responsibility of the banquet manager, here is a brief description of your daily tasks:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, organization, management and control of Banquet events;
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction by collecting their comments and if necessary, manage customer complaints;
- Supervise the service, inspect service areas and ensure compliance with department procedures;
- Supervise, train, evaluate and encourage the performance of all its employees;
- Plan schedules according to the collective agreement, manage the workforce according to the productivity ratios in place;
- Apply the service standards of the Hotel;
- Ensure the application of hygiene, sanitation, health and safety standards at work;
- Maintain an inventory of equipment and its storage (tables, chairs, easels, etc.);
- Proceed to the requisitions of dishes, alcohol, drinks and all the stock necessary for the proper planning of events;
- Monitor and ensure that hotel property and equipment are used and stored safely;
- Attend pre-conference meetings;
- Act as a reference for on-site staff, particularly regarding invoicing, inventory taking and handling of service equipment;
- All other related tasks.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including sommelier;
- Developed leadership qualities;
- Autonomous, very dynamic and motivated;
- Developed sense of customer service;
- Speed of execution and keen sense of organization;
- Work experience in a unionized environment;
- Experience with schedule planning;
- Knowledge of the Micros, CiTy, Synerion system; an advantage;
Training:
- Recognized diploma from a tourism and/or hotel school (or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience;
Number of years of experience required:
- Minimum experience of one (1) year in a similar position and establishment;
Languages:
- Bilingualism (French and English) spoken and written is required in this position, as we serve an international clientele.
Availability:
- Day, evening, and weekends.
