Description

maternity leave replacement - possibility of a permanant position after the mat leave replacement within the hospitality group RIMAP.

JOB SUMMARY 

The Accounting Technician assists the hotel’s Financial Controller in his tasks and responsibilities. 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for accounts payable and receivable; 

  • Supervise night auditors’ tasks; cover some shifts if needed; 

  • Prepare hotel and residential daily bank deposits; 

  • Prepare change requests; 

  • Prepare daily adjustment reports and ensure follow up (verify required approvals); 

  • Conduct regular cash float audits; 

  • Conduct monthly linen inventory and bi-annual tableware inventory with department managers; 

  • Manage the shop (market): responsible for orders and restocking of shelves; 

  • Enter pay data in the accounting system; 

  • Substitute for the Financial Controller in his absence; 

  • Participate in hotel’s Manager On Duty (MOD) program, which requires to be available some evenings and weekends; 

  • Assist the Financial Controller in other related tasks. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • College diploma (cegep) with major in accounting or finance and 2 years of pertinent experience;  

OR 

  • Vocational Education diploma in accounting or finance and 4 years of pertinent experience; 

AND 

  • Hotel Front Desk experience or related field, an asset.

  • Bilingualism required: speaking, writing and reading French and English; 

  • Display a professional behaviour at all times, showing enthusiasm for cohesion and collaboration between teams and colleagues; 

  • Interact with others with the intention of establishing positive and constructive work relationships; 

  • Able to work under pressure, have a developed sense of urgency and be able to manage priorities; 

  • Able to communicate ideas and concepts clearly, in writing and orally; 

  • High organizational capacity in order to work with tight deadlines and ensure regular follow-ups;
