The Accounting Technician assists the hotel’s Financial Controller in his tasks and responsibilities.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for accounts payable and receivable;
Supervise night auditors’ tasks; cover some shifts if needed;
Prepare hotel and residential daily bank deposits;
Prepare change requests;
Prepare daily adjustment reports and ensure follow up (verify required approvals);
Conduct regular cash float audits;
Conduct monthly linen inventory and bi-annual tableware inventory with department managers;
Manage the shop (market): responsible for orders and restocking of shelves;
Enter pay data in the accounting system;
Substitute for the Financial Controller in his absence;
Participate in hotel’s Manager On Duty (MOD) program, which requires to be available some evenings and weekends;
Assist the Financial Controller in other related tasks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College diploma (cegep) with major in accounting or finance and 2 years of pertinent experience;
Vocational Education diploma in accounting or finance and 4 years of pertinent experience;
Hotel Front Desk experience or related field, an asset.

Bilingualism required: speaking, writing and reading French and English;
